Laurie & Chris. Larry & Mustopher. Bubba 1 & Bubba 2. Words can’t describe how much I love these two, and I am so beyond lucky to call them my friends. So the funny thing about their engagement session…there were TWO of them! This is a rare scenario, but I think we appreciated every last minute of hangout time before they packed up and moved to sunny California. Take 1 began at their cozy nerd castle, which had once been the headquarters of many movie nights, game nights, taco nights, and firepit singalongs. I arrived at their apartment; Laurie emerged from their room looking like a newly bloomed flower, and Chris gave her this look that I often give to a fresh bowl of guacamole. The look of true love. I don’t recall giving them any sort of direction for posing, and I don’t believe it mattered one bit. This fabulous gif containing a perfectly accurate display of their beautiful personalities ended up on their wedding website. It brings me much joy and I’m so happy that it exists.
We initiated our outdoor journey with a substantial amount of hope that we would find the perfect location. We did indeed find a perfect location, with one big problem. We managed to get some nice shots, but it didn’t take long for the entire Long Island population of gnats and mosquitos to aggressively attack us like a Spartan army. So we called it a day, thankful that we managed to capture a few awesome photos to post on social media soon after.
Feeling some Titanic vibes
Always <3
Fast forward about one week. Take 2!
Second chances are always a treat, but this one felt especially satisfying. Laurie and Chris packed their flannels and lineup of adorably derpy faces and we met at Norman J. Levy Park. The mood was enchanting, the light was dreamy, and the jokes were cheesy. Like, dad-joke cheesy. My jokes, of course. Why does anyone still hang out with me? Anyway…
To say this was probably the most fun I’ve had shooting so far would be an understatement. I wish I could go back to this day all the time. Not just because I miss having them in New York, but because they are the epitome of #Relationshipgoals
ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ <—my emotional tears of joy.
